My name is Walter Werner. I am married to Patricia Nicolau. Together we have 3 kids: Thomas, Arthur and Hugo. Originally I am from Brazil and my wife is from Mozambique. Work brought us to the Netherlands, where we currently live in Haarlem. We live in the Netherlands for 9 years now and bought the house we currently live in a few years ago. Since the house was built in 1928, there was a lot we could do to renovate it and make it more sustainable. That’s why we chose to make the house more sustainable with Energiebespaarders.

I wasn’t a hassle for me to make my house more sustainable. We had the financial means to finance the renovation. After that it was just a question of finding the right company to help us with it. From friends we heard about Energiebespaarders. They told us what your service was and that it was good. Therefore we decided to contact Energiebespaarders ourselves. We first purchased an Energiepaspoort, the report about the energy efficiency. For the Energiepaspoort, we had a house visit from a consultant from Energiebespaarders, Tim. The Energiepaspoort showed all the possible renovations that we could make for the house. After this, we decided to go with wall isolation to begin with. We did this after consulting Tim about it. This way of working was very easy for us. We just had a couple of contact moments, a house visit and a report and we knew everything we needed to know to renovate our house.

I would definitely tell other people about the work that Energiebespaarders does. First of all I think it is both beneficial and necessary for people to make their houses more sustainable. Making your house more sustainable saves you a lot of money and at the same time it is good for the environment. Secondly, the service of Energiebespaarders was very good. Although your website was in Dutch because you are a Dutch company, the house visit and the report were specially made in English for us. This was a big help for us to make the whole process understandable. Besides that, you guys were very flexible in the communication. We wanted a different date for the house visit because the first date wasn’t possible at the last minute. This was no problem at all and the same day we had a different date for the house visit later that week. Because this was done so smoothly, the whole process didn’t slow down at all. Therefore, the service of Energiebespaarders was very good in our opinion.

I have three kids. Therefore I find it important to do something to mitigate climate change myself. We already use the car less and recycle, to do our part for the environment. Now, by renovating our house, we can make a big impact and reduce our carbon footprint substantially. I think that it is important to leave the world in a good state for later generations. That’s why we chose to make our house more sustainable. I think everyone should start, including the government. People should make changes themselves and not wait for the government to do it for them.
